Smiling Wolf was rescued from a research lab. She lived to be 17. Later in life she started developing tumors - benign - but all over. One in her eye was removed by a specialist who was able to save her eye, only to come back in under 3 months and come back in such a way that the only way to remove the tumor was to remove the eye as well. She seemed to get along ok. I started calling her "Winking Wolf." Eventually the tumors became more and more invasive and could not be removed. Ultimately It was time to let her go which I did very reluctantly. She was the most beautiful, gentle, sweet animal I've ever had
