"World peace is not only necessary, but inevitable..." -Baha'i Scripture

Have You Ever Wondered What It All Means?

I seem to find that more and more, I question the big questions in life.  I am fascinated by beautiful sunsets, waves on the lake, clouds upon blue sky, the vastness of the universe and the beauty  and harmony of music...   I lose myself in the moment... I find myself in the moment.... Through prayer and meditation and quietness I find enlightenment.

I am convinced that we have inherited a wonderful gift of life, of consciousness, a world full of potential...  I am so greatful for the visionary people who have worked and lived and loved and offered their creativity to human civilization... even if they didn't realize that I would be the benificiary.

And so we now live our lives, usually wrapt in our own provincial realities, usually unaware of our opportunity and priviledge to lend our part in assisting in the creation of the ever-advancing civilization that Baha'u'llah envisions.

And so I remind myself of the importance of seeing the growth of the Kingdom within each moment, within each choice, within each action, as moment by moment, we become our future.  Indeed, friends, we depend on friends, family, community... there are no longer any strangers... our community now extends to the far ends of the world...

And where can we draw inspiration?  Try looking deeply into our spiritual and religious heritage for guidance, for therein lies not simply history, but knowledge for living creatively, with love in our hearts and justice in our communities.  Search deeply the writings of Jesus Christ, Moses, Abraham, Mohammed, Zoroaster, Buddha, Krishna, the Bab, Baha'u'llah and all the Great Ones whose names we may not know, but whose teachings have been shaping and training our ancestors, gradually growing the fruits of the spirit within human hearts.

And so, the big question:  How shall I choose to spend the next day, week, month, year... or longer?  Where will I next sail my ship on the ocean of life?

I believe that creating this Baha'i Group is an essential part of our future...

I invite you to join.

David

I deeply believe that all we ever really have is this day, this hour, this MOMENT. All we have is NOW. All our yesterdays brought us to this place in time; all our tomorrows with all their unknowns await us. But nothing matters but NOW. So enjoy the sunsets and the clouds rolling by; the breeze in your face. Love your family and your friends. Love yourself. Sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and a friend and feel the power of the ocean and the warmth of the sun. Do no harm. Do good. Be in the moment, whether it be joy and laughter or sadness and tears. Hold it in the palm of your hand, as you would a stone, rolling it over and over feeling the texture of it - it's smoothness and roughness and how in spite of its flaws, it is beautiful and a miracle of the universe. Be present in the moment. Love and Light
