Mystery JigsawAbout Me
Mostly retired after working for various chemical companies. One still employs me as a parttime consultant. In addition to the interests listed, I like to work parttime jobs for as long as they are fun or interesting. In the past 5 years, I have: worked as a movie extra; driven limos, Brinks trucks (also armed guard for Brinks), and hearses; and worked for the LA Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
Starting in my early teens, some other jobs I've done for pay include: newspaper carrier, movie projectionist, musician in jazz combo, mussel digger (Tennessee River), lawn work, painter, substitute teacher, guard, physical test lab tech, chem lab tech, machine shop helper, and gunsmith.
My wife and I enjoy travel. We have vacationed in Greece, Uzbekistan, Italy, Russia, Mexico, Canada, and Ukraine.
I have two sons, a close former stepson and stepdaughter, several grandkids, one dog, and two or three friends.
My roots are Scots-Irish. I checked Atheist on the choice for religious belief because there was no choice for "no religious belief." Some of the nicest and most intelligent people I've met proclaim no religious belief.
Interests:
gardening, guns, fishing, home improvement, parttime jobs, writing, tinkering on stuff found in other's trash,(Dumpster diving), travel, photography, cooking, and much reading. I am a member of two book clubs, Mensa, Capital Area Community Mediation Center (I am a certified mediator and arbitrator, and on the board of directors), and a Freethinkers local group.
