In my lifetime I have had small jobs where I worked in the business office at a truck stop, I was a spot-welder, and I also sold advertising from home. During my adult life I have worked as a business representative for GTE and I have been an elementary school secretary for 18 years and I love it!
Hometown(s):
I was born and raised in the area of Milton, Indiana. I lived for awhile in Connersville and Pershing, IN before moving to Columbus, OH. Columbus is home now....GO BUCKS!

Small stained glass window I found tucked in a dark side entryway to an old Lutheran Church in Gahanna, Ohio.
Barbara54 says:
I love old churches. I don't know that I can pinpoint exactly what it is I like about them....but I think the first thing that I usually notice is the scent. Now maybe it's just that all old buildings take on the scent of old wood, moisture, dryness, years of heat..years of cool...a mountain of candles having been sacrificed within the walls....and years and years of people coming and going, but when you walk into an old church or any old building....I think there's an overwhelming sense of all the history that's been lived within the walls. I sometimes feel like an intruder, but more often than not I get the feeling that I want to be a part of that history I'm sensing. I feel that if I stay very still....respect the quiet...that I can in someway be absorbed into the very feeling of the serene history that surrounds me. It's usually about that time that the less than subtle noise of the outside world makes its way into the solemness that the walls deserve....and somehow I feel sad. I have to remind myself that nothing has been lost.....the experience has been all mine and made me a much richer person. Life is good.
