About Me

My grandkids think I am a "cool" Gram. I can text and IM with them, and I listen. Well no wonder, since they are all the most wonderful grands you could imagine!

Interests:
Interests. I love humor, love to laugh. Love people, love life. Early morning is my favorite time, when the sun is just coming up and the colors all become brighter and the quiet begins to be taken over with life. Then at the other end of the day, I hate to give it up, want to stay up and continue with that conversation, that book, that interesting TV show.... I like to stop and soak in the simple wonderous things all around us. Then I become fascinated with quantum physics, philosopy, all religious beliefs, the string theory, the big bang theory, the occult, and just listening to the elderly man down the street enriching my life with stories of his. Sports: I like baseball, grew up in Massachusetts, so you know who I root for, football, and some basketball are my favorites. Hobbies, are pretty much reading, a little gardening, a little crafty stuff.

We have no big trips planned at this time. My wife is going to FL for a few days with a woman friend, probably to Pensacola then Orlando. I begged off. Plane travel has gotten much more hectic since the rise in fuel prices, and getting older doesn't help, either. What I'd like to do next is take a trip to the Grand Canyon by car, stopping for the night every 700 or 800 miles.

Recently joined the Americans United for the Separation of Church as a charter member of the 1st Louisiana chapter. We are fortunate to have Dr. Barbara Forrest as a local.

I didn't see "Bucket List." I see two or three movies per year, but on the advice of my son, Max, saw "Dark Knight" two days ago, then at the request of my wife, saw "Mama Mia" yesterday. Totally different, but I enjoyed both.

Your quote from Lewis Carroll reminded me of a favorite of mine that he wrote, "Jabberwocky."

I'm not familiar with Braden, but will check him out.

The book I'm now reading is "Metamorphoses" by Ovid

Barb:

I wrote two answers to a message you sent weeks ago, but being new to this site, I don't think it was done properly. They are on my profile page. Let me know if you read them.
