Born in Dallas, TX - but I spent most of my life in the country with my horses and other assorted animals around the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. After I retired, I moved to Grand Saline, TX and I just loved East Texas. I have moved to South Dakota to live with my oldest daughter's family. It has been nice to come to a kinder place here in South Dakota.

About Me

I am a native Texan that has had to relocate to South Dakota to live with my wonderful, oldest daughter. We have five (5) in the family. That would be my daughter, her husband and my oldest, two (2) grand-daughters. They have been kind enough to include me into their home and I am loving it. This is the first time I have ever seen snow stay more than two (2) days and have felt such extreme cold in my life. However, with it being as dry as it is here in South Dakota - it does not feel too bad if you dress right. Which my daughter and son-in-law have been so careful to do. I have found a wonderful sense of a little slower lifestyle and great value here in South Dakota. It is like going back about 40 years in Texas when kindness, respect and not so much crime was the norm. I hope to make some friends my age here but I am pretty much a home-body. I do enjoy finally getting to go the my grand-daughter's school activities and I am sooo pround of them. They are 12 and 8 years old. I have five (5) grand-children in all. I have a son and daughter-in-law still in Paradise, Texas and they have a 1 year old daughter and a 4 years old son. My son works a lot of hours right now so I decided to come to South Dakota. I also have a younger daughter that lives in Keller, TX and she has a 7 year old daughter. She also works a lot of hours and would not be able to visit me enough. However, I do talk with them on the telephone constantly. We are a very close family and I love them dearly. We are currently remodeling the house so that I have my own room and it is in construction now. Our Contractor, however - has stolen about one third of our reconstruction money and we are reeling from that blow. But we are moving ahead and trying to stay positive

Interests:
I have been a horse breeder, rider and lower level trainer as my major hobby for over 50 years. I currently have 3 horses that I brought to South Dakota with me. I love all animals and also have 2 Great Pyranees dogs and 2 Siamese/Bobtail cats that stay in the house with me. I like gardening on a flower basis and )believe-it-or-not) mowing the acreage. I have always been a "tom-boy" - even if I am over 60. It helps to keep me young at heart. I also love to garden and to have house plants. I love to walk around our 10 acres and just enjoy the green of the grass and trees. It gives to peace.

Ooops! I think I sent a message to BluesLady instead of you. I said that it was quite a change from the heat of East Texas to the winters of S. Dakota, but we adjust over time. My granddaughter moved from HI to NM; and brought her surf board. Ho Ho! You've been lucky to have had horses a long time. I only started riding last year. It will be one year in October. And I wish I had started young. Good luck with your transition. You're lucky to have good children. And you can stay in touch with email, too.
