Hi Chet. I too am a new member of AARP. I am starting to maneuver around this site and enjoy it. I have made several friends. If I have questions about anything, I know I have friends that can help and give me their point of view.
I hope you have a great day. I also play the piano and it is very relaxing to me after a long day at work. (even if I make a few mistakes- no one hears those mistakes but me) . Hope to hear from you again. Stella

Yes, it's best to be completely alone when you're trying to learn a new song.

Welcome aboard Chet. You are young & brave. How long have you been with AARP? You have lots of friends already. When I was 50, the last thing I wanted to do was join AARP. I just took the plunge this past March. I love this site, it has something for everyone and you get to meet lots of interesting people. Have a good day my new friend.

I found out last year that a person had to be "only" 50 to join AARP. So I decided to try to put a positive spin on turning 50 and join when my birthday arrived. Nice to know you.

Hello, I am a new member and so excited to find this forum of communication. I have tried to get a response with several things I have E-mailed but to no avail. I am not so good on the computer, so I am sure I'm not doing something right to evoke a response. At any rate, I have enjoyed your comments and hope to hear from somebody!!!! Gayle

I was raised in Hawaii where the majority of the people are other then Christian. My own family was Southern Babtists and I coukd never understand why a god so loving would send anyone to burn in hell--or so it was preached. As I have grown older I find myself growing closer and closer to Buddism which I find much more peaceful.

Hello PattiK,

One of the public libraries which I frequent has books on tape from a company called "Knowledge Products." I've checked out and listened to the ones on Buddhism and Judaism. I personally believe that there is good in all religions. If you ever locate that tape/CD, you should listen to it.

Please do not abandon God-He has not abandoned you. Maybe you could spread the good news of Jesus Christ in Hawaii instead of becoming Buddist. There is peace in the Lord.

I don't know how much I can contribute, if anything at all. It sounds interesting.
