Hi. I'm new and just finished putting some information into my profile. Thank you for putting the information about "Friends" up. That was very helpful. I do have a question: I would like to start a grief support group in the aarp online community but do not know how to start (or under what category to put it). Can you help with this?
Welcome! Glad you could join us. That's wonderful that you want to start a group. I'd also encourage you to visit two existing grief support groups that are wonderful: Grief and Loss (www.aarp.org/community/groups/GriefLoss/) and Lost to Grief (www.aarp.org/community/groups/LosttoGrief/). For directions on creating a new group, go to the main Groups page (www.aarp.org/community/groups/) and click the button that says "Create Group." Thanks and take care.
Amy:
Old HTee has to admit to being Computer Illiterate and extremely, extremely dense between the ears. It takes a great deal to finally pound something into my dense head. Also, I have been very outspoken about the difficulty I have in navigating around this site compared to what I was able to do on the old site operated by Prospero.
I have copied and pasted the GROUP listing and I see there are 12 separate listings. There is also a number in parentheses after each. For example, after the first one, Arts & Entertainment (49). I opened it and found 9 different items, again a number by each which totaled to 49.
First question. Is Group a first level?
Second Question. Are these 9 listings a second level? Also what is the correct name for these 9 listings?
Third Question. First item is listed as Art (3). Is this a third level and what is the correct name?
Fourth Question. There are three topics listed in Arts. What is the correct name for these?
When I understand these four questions, I will be back with more which will be similar in nature. I started by saying I have been very critical of this site, even going so far as to say there was no thought given to using the best features of the old board and adding improvements.
