About Me

Terrible photo....but it'll have to do! I had a wonderful teaching career here in Texas. Retired almost five years ago when social security laws changed for teachers in the state.....So I now live near my children/grandchildren. I love gardening, reading, movies, and some volunteer work. I just recently put in a xeriscape garden and spend almost every day doing whatever needs to be done within my gardens. I love being outside, but summers here make it difficult to be out more than a few hours a day.

Interests:
I love swimming, exercising and take good care of myself. I have an outgoing personality and yet I love having my space....in fact I think I'm getting more selfish about that. I enjoy watching baseball, tennis, and football. I do volunteer work in my community and church. Since I enjoy life so much I enjoy trying new things.....want to take sailing lessons, art lessons, and dream of the day I will try sky diving. I enjoy cooking when someone else is in the kitchen with me...Otherwise I think that doing so much cooking when my children were young just burned me out

Well, if that is a bad picture, I can't wait to see a good one. You have a beautiful smile that radiated the outgoing personality you talked about in your profile. I retired from teaching job in Texas last Friday. I'm now a gloriously happy stay at home grandma (Nana) for my two grandsons.

Thank you! Very nice of you to say.....guess that's what retirement does for you :)

I'm so happy for you. I know that after putting in all those years of teaching you are certainly deserving of some time......those 10-12 hour days.....and even longer in some instances......were really beginning to take it's toll on me and honestly I didn't realize that until AFTER I retired. I feel so refreshed now. Even with those days of taking care of the grandchildren.....at least now I can actually take a nap after they leave.

Let's keep in touch....It will be interesting to see how long it takes for you to REALLY slow down.....I know that for me I had so much to catch up on it took a while
