About Me

I have worked for AARP for over 15 years all with some level of involvement in the community features online. I have built many great relationships with AARP members who I now consider my online friends. I am here to help all new users so feel free to leave a comment or send me a message. There is also a great group that users can post to with any questions http://www.aarp.org/community/groups/communityhelp

How to post to a thread or to begin a new topic:

If you are interested in posting a reply to an existing thread, here’s what you should do.

First, you need to Register for http://www.aarp.org, if you are registered and signed in, you will be viewing a group you would like to reply to. First, click on Join this Group underneath the Group Picture to the left.

If this is a request only group, you will have to await approval from the Group Owner prior to joining. If it is a public group, you no longer see Join this Group under the photo but the option to Leave this Group. For more on Joining a Group – see this tutorial http://assets.aarp.org/www.aarp.org_/articles/help/group_tutorial.pdf

Once you have joined a group you can create a New Topic or Reply to any post within an existing topic. To Create a New Topic simply click on the New Topic button near the top of the screen.  You must be at the group level to see this button.  If you are in a topic you should click on Back to all Topics link.

You will then be at the group level page.

If you would like to post a reply there are two options for replying.

First, you have the option to reply directly to the topic post, this is shown above and at the top of every page within the group discussion.

Second, If you would like to post a reply to someone who has replied to the original you will want to click on the Reply to Post link at the top of their post.

Enjoy!!

I just told Amy that I'm watching the national news and thinking about you girls. Sounds like you'll have lots of snow to shovel!! My goodness, it looks like it will take days for the city to shovel out. Hope it isn't too much of a problem and that you and the kids will enjoy the unexpected "windfall" of SNOW!

It is absolutely beautiful! I love it, I took a long walk today and it was so quiet and peaceful. Too many people get ansy - I like to pretend I am still young and play. We are closed tomorrow and will be interesting as new storm heading our way..

I like that concept of pretending we are "still young". I like to play in the snow too! Bundle up and enjoy every minute of the peace and beauty, Teri. Have fun!
