Health Care NOWStop Gaming the political system at our expense!
President Obama's scaled back plan does a lot of good for us seniors, I suggest you go to the whithouse.gov site and read the whole thing. Skip the onesey twosey little sound bites we are getting from eveyone with an agenda to push and read the whole thing, it is only maybe 3 pages. Very concise. NO PORK or EARMARKS.

He took out all of the contentious items and it really only contains the things most of us wanted.

This is a great step toward stablizing the rising costs for millions of Americans and helping to keep Medicare alive for us.

Doing nothing is not an option

So many industrialized countries have taken the middleman (insurance companies demanding 20-30% profits ON TOP OF EXPENSES) out of the equation to help control rising health care costs.

Until this country is ready to do that, we will continue to see fewer and fewer companies offer health insurance to their employees, and the employees who have coverage will continue to pay a higher share of those premiums.

One nice touch in Obama's proposal, is that the House and Senate will be required to use the same health insurance plan being '''offered''' to all of us.

I am calling ALL of my representatives today to tell them I want this plan, I want them to vote FOR this plan, and if they don't I will campaign and vote against them.

The President lived up to his end of the deal, he pared the plan way back, left in what we wanted, served it up on a silver platter for the House and Senate.

Let's see who bites?

I am in a bad place. I don't trust the Republicans or the Democrats anymore, & I want to vote them all out & put in some smart people who know how to live on a budget, have more ethics than a badger, & can think their way out of a problem.
Maybe some good college professors?
I'm frustrated that the media allows Washington to keep propagandizing a 10% unemployment rate. The real number is around 18% according to the BLS & other gov't. accounting offices. The 10% refers to those still receiving benefits.
To say that there is one available job for every six jobseekers is ridiculous. Do they think we are stupid?
Did you know that the stimulus spending bill(Am. Recovery & Reinvestment Act) allows the gov't. to count as creating a job or a portion of a job, ANYONE WHO GOT A PAY RAISE!
STOP THE PRESSES!!!! THEY ARE USING OUR TAX DOLLARS TO GRANT PAY RAISES!!! & COUNTING THAT AS WHOLE or PARTIAL JOBS CREATED!!!
...State officials also note that the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act legislation does not make a distinction in what type of jobs should be created by the spending. It simply says one of its purposes is to "preserve & create jobs & promote economic recovery."
Meanwhile, it's impossible to tally the total number of jobs created or retained with stimulus dollars to date because the White House recently ordered changes in the way those jobs are counted.
The government previously told recipients of stimulus dollars to count only jobs that were created & filled as a result of the spending or existing jobs "that would not have been continued" if not for the spending. The government, however, released new guidelines in December that require recipients to count all jobs funded with federal stimulus dollars, whether those jobs were in jeopardy or not. For example, raises paid with federal stimulus dollars are now counted as fractions of jobs.

If you are at the meeting tomorrow ask about the health care tax and why unions, congress and illegals are exempt?

This bill is so unfair, some pay extra tax others not.

Let me tell you how this bill work. THE TRUTH

Each month you will see a new entry on the deductible column of your SS, retirement and work check. It is called "Health Care Tax." It is just a tax. If you want health insurance you will have to pay a premium or be fined. The medicare mess will not change except rising cost, and if you keep you current insurance you will just pay the extra tax--150-200.

Congress, illegals and unions are exempt from "Health Care Tax" So if you work with an illegal they will get extra take home pay because of no health care tax.

Ask you congressmen why the exemptions if they feel the bill is great...Then you will see the truth all else lies.

You have it wrong, you are just passing along lies and untruths about health care. I suggest you read what the National AARP web site has to say. That is the truth, no the mumbo jumo coming from the right wing and the Republicans.

I am adamantly opposed to the government takeover of the health care programs in the USA! Socialism will destroy our great nation. And the current proposal for a MASSIVE federal government program will result in NO HEALTHCARE SERVICE FOR OLDER AMERICANS because we will cost them too much!!
