Hello in Arizona! I am new to the AARP and am currently living in Oklahoma. I wish to retire in a very active Senior community in the Phoenix, Chandler area. Can you recommend a list of these communities? Is there anyone out there that would like to recommend one to me? Thanks, and God Bless!

Thanks for your email, and sorry for the late response.

As to your question regarding an active senior community, please allow me to recomend you to contact the Area Agency on Aging, Region One, Senior Helpline (www.aaaphx.org, 602-264-4357). Another place that might be a good start is the Chandler Housing (www.chandler.az.gov, 480-782-3200). I'm sure that if they do not have the information you need, they will be able to direct you to the right source.

Thanks,

Hi, Can't find any info on this AARP website about volunteering in or around Tempe AZ. I don't want to go to the senior center listed. Don't you have any groups here in the east valley?

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with AARP. The profile for AARP in Arizona is under construction and in the near future it will have information on voluntarism and other items.

As to your question, we currently have around 10 volunteers in or around Tempe who offer their service to AARP in the areas of advocacy and community outreach. My suggestion is that we have a telephone conversation to start. Would you provide us with a number we can reach you at?

Thanks so much,
