About Me

I have settled in Santa Barbara with my husband, son, daughter-in-law, and 2 granddaughters. Both my husband and I have made career changes. He catapulted in reverse from the president of a professional corporation to a car salesman. I hopped from being a librarian to founding my own website, www.50somethinginfo.com, a comprehensive source of pre-screened information dedicated to our 50 something lifestyle

Abour the cruise, I'm an advocate of smaller ship cruises, where your are most likely to get the kind of help you need from concerned crew/staff. Maggie's advice on insurance is just right...get it! And it looks like you have lined up the proper help at airports etc. We had a 90-year old on a recent ACCL cruise from RI to Quebec City and he did well, played both bridge and cribbage, very alert. ACCL and CruiseWest are two fine small ship lines. But you are committed to a cruise and it sounds like you have planned well. Take a cane. It gets attention

Hey, we haven't purchased the cruise yet. Will look into your recommendation but we must go around August 6 (the drawback). Why, you ask? Because mom's younger boyfriend is going to Alaska with his family and they want to be gone at the same time so they don't have to come back to the retirement community and not find the other one there!!! Really cute, huh?
