Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
The AARP Foundation Grandparents Information Center provides grandparents responsible for caring for their grandchildren with access to much needed information on legal, financial, health, education and housing issues that they may not be aware of.

AARP Foundation Legal Advocacy is the leading national organization that defends and supports the legal rights of older Americans across the United States - assuring that they have a voice in our judicial system. Our team of 16 attorneys works to change practices or policies that are detrimental to Americans over age 50, with a particular focus on helping low-income and vulnerable people.
Consumer Fraud Prevention: Educating Consumers
Training and working with volunteers in local communities, the AARP Foundation is alerting and educating older consumers to recognize scams, report fraud and protect themselves and others in their community.
Charitable Giving Opportunities
To support existing programs and services that will help Americans 50 and over, the AARP Foundation has established a broad-range of charitable giving options. These options allow individuals to give immediate gifts of cash, stock and real estate that can be put to work right away supporting Foundation programs. Planned Giving opportunities are also available for those interested in long-term giving options that may have a positive impact on their financial future.

Accessing Public and Private Benefits
Experts estimate that nearly four million eligible low-income older people are not getting the benefits they deserve because they are not familiar with the criteria or the process of accessing federal or state assistance to ease their monthly financial obligations. The AARP Foundation Benefits Outreach Program has developed community education and volunteer-assistance programs to facilitate understanding and access to public benefits by older Americans.
Job Training and Placement
The AARP Foundation’s Senior Community Service Employment Program provides work-place training and job-placement services that allow low-income Americans to return to work, gain an improved standard of living, attain a greater sense of security and remain productive members of the community.
