AARP Debuts New Digital Event Platform
Virtual Experience Will Allow Live Access to National Event & Expo
WASHINGTON – AARP today announced it will debut the AARP Digital Experience, a new virtual event platform that will enable AARP members and aarp.org users to share in the Orlando@50+ experience and enjoy the celebrity speakers, informative sessions, exhibitors, sponsors and information-packed Exhibit Hall of AARP’s National Event & Expo, all from the convenience of their home or office.
For the first time in the event’s 10 year history, AARP will be offering virtual access to the majority of the event’s information sessions which will be streamed live and feature numerous celebrity speakers and experts. Virtual attendees will also be able to participate in live or on-demand sessions and even enter to win exciting show giveaways. Many of the sessions will be available online for an additional six months.
“This is the first time an event this complex will be presented in this format, utilizing this technology,” said CB Wismar, Vice President, AARP Events. “Not only will the fascinating seminars and sessions be available as close as an individual’s computer, the full experience of being on the exhibition floor will be accessible as well.”
The AARP Digital Experience will bring the show’s expo floor to life by creating virtual booths for both sponsors and exhibitors and consumers looking to take part in the event remotely. This unique opportunity offers companies the chance to extend their reach beyond the live event for a full six months. Various levels of participation provide a wide range of options and exhibitors can pick from multiple booth templates each of which offer different features depending on the sponsorship level. Their virtual exhibit booth can provide videos, product demonstrations, informational fact sheets, links to their websites and more. Companies taking advantage of this latest offering from AARP include UnitedHealth Group, Walgreens, and Bank of America.
AARP members who visit the virtual booths will be able to view and download exhibitor’s content and talk with their representatives via text, audio or video chats. Using a simple online tool, exhibitors can build their own virtual booth in as little as 30 minutes by picking their booth style, uploading their logo and marketing materials of their choice.
Access to the virtual expo floor and the live steamed sessions is available for free to registered aarp.org users. Registration is open for consumers at www.aarp.org/events.
