AARP Statement in Reaction to Ways and Means Committee Members’ Request

WASHINGTON – AARP spokesperson Jim Dau released the following response following the Association’s receipt of a letter from members of the House Ways and Means Committee.  The request asks for additional information following a report by these members and an April 1st subcommittees hearing.

“AARP has received and is reviewing the request of these Members of Congress.  AARP has cooperated fully in their review, responding to requests for information by providing hundreds of pages of documents.

“AARP is a long-time champion of transparency, which is why we also invite anyone to visit  The website includes our annual reports, public filings, charts on AARP’s revenues and expenditures, and information that AARP voluntarily sent to Congressional staff at their request over the last several months.

“We are proud of the work we’ve done for more than 50 years to improve the quality of life for all Americans as they age, and we’re happy to let people judge for themselves.”
