Jim Forbes, a financial executive residing in New York, is AARP’s Secretary/Treasurer. He chairs the Audit and Finance Committee and also serves on the Compensation Committee. Previously, he was audit chair and treasurer for the AARP Foundation Board of Directors. He has been an interim executive services partner in the not-for-profit practice at Tatum LLC, executive vice chairman for AmeriCares, chief financial and operational controller for Mercedes-Benz N.A., and has led the turnaround of several for-profit corporations. As a volunteer, he served as a founder and chair of the Biomedical Engineering and Alliance Consortium (BEACON) Foundation board and served on the board of the YMCA Vocational Counseling and Testing Service in New York City.
