Hollis "Terry" Bradwell III

Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Terry Bradwell is a 10-year veteran of AARP, and prior to his current assignment as executive vice president and chief information officer, served as vice president of Application Services Management. He has direct responsibility for managing a $100 million annual budget and supporting more than 300 applications and two data centers that are leveraged by internal business users and external partners, as well as AARP members, volunteers, advocates and donors. The mission critical systems he is accountable for include Konnex (Membership Management Platform), VMIS (Volunteer Management System), ERP (PeopleSoft and JDE), PRM (Partner Relationship Management) and the Infonet.

He has held a number of senior leadership positions and has more than 20 years of domestic and international experience in information technology development, delivery and management. Prior to joining AARP, he worked as a principal for IBM’s Media and Entertainment practice, with a primary focus of turning around troubled IT projects and corporate change management initiatives. While at IBM, he successfully led the turnaround efforts of AARP’s first integrated membership management system (Konnex). At the conclusion of this effort, he also played a key role in assisting AARP’s leadership establish the framework for the first chief information officer (CIO) role in 1998.

Previously, he served as solution delivery executive for Gaming-Technologies (G-Tech) corporation. While at G-Tech he led the implementation of On-line Lottery Systems (OLS) in Michigan, New Hampshire, Maine, Texas and California, as well as national lotteries in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Chile, Brazil, Austrialia, Taiwan and Finland. These extremely fast-paced OLS implementations typically involved setting up complete data centers, satellite communications and supporting three layers of real-time redundancy, bringing online simultaneously as many as 50,000 retailers that sold online and instant lotto tickets.

Prior to that, he resided for five years in Amsterdam and functioned as Intergraph Corporation’s technology liaison for their European sales and manufacturing operations. During this period, Intergraph was ranked No. 2 in worldwide sales of turnkey CAD/CAM systems and he played a critical role during the company’s growth in leading the successful implementation of custom sales, manufacturing and distribution support systems in facilities located in seven countries across Western Europe.

In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, he is an accomplished musician, composer and producer. He performs with and develops talented musicians in the Miami area.

He received a B.S. degree in computer information systems from Florida A&M University in 1985 while on a full athletic scholarship, and he still maintains his primary residence in Miami.
