James Carville is a political consultant with a track record for steering overlooked candidates to unexpected victories. Called the "Ragin' Cajun" for his animated debating style and home-state roots, Carville earned undergraduate and law degrees from Louisiana State University, managed several successful state campaigns and emerged on the national scene after helping elect President Bill Clinton in 1992.
With pollster Stanley Greenberg, Carville founded Democracy Corps, an independent polling organization dedicated to making government more responsive to the American people. Now a political contributor for CNN, Carville also serves as a Professor of Practice at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he lives with his wife, Mary Matalin, and their two daughters.
