Dan Marino is one of the most renowned quarterbacks in football history. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a stand-out quarterback in high school and at the University of Pittsburgh. After the Miami Dolphins drafted him as their top pick in 1983, Marino had a stellar season and became the only rookie quarterback to start in the Pro Bowl. During his 17 seasons in the NFL, he threw for 420 touchdowns and more than 61,000 yards. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2005.
A studio analyst for CBS’s football pregame show, The NFL Today, Marino also serves as the AARP Men’s Life Ambassador. He and his wife, Claire, run the Dan Marino Foundation, which advocates for families with autism.
