The Soul Rebels

Brass Band plays a unique brand of New Orleans music

Performing at The Great AARP Meet & Greet

Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Soul Rebels

The Soul Rebels Brass Band plays a unique brand of New Orleans music that blends Mardi Gras funk, soft rock, reggae and jazz. After parading around the streets of New Orleans in the tradition of the second line and jazz funerals, the Soul Rebels made their professional debut with the Neville Brothers at a popular local club and continued opening for the band.

The seven college-trained musicians have also opened for a diverse group of performers including Allen Toussaint, Branford Marsalis and Counting Crows.  Soul Rebels Brass Band has played at music festivals throughout the U.S. and worldwide.

Their seventh and latest album, No Place Like Home, was released in 2009.
