Isaac Becker, the chef/owner of two restaurants in Minneapolis, Minnesota, received the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Midwest in 2011. He started cooking in 1989, and in 1994 became a line cook at the award winning D’amico Cucina in Minneapolis. Soon after, he was named head chef at three of the restaurant’s locations.
Becker and his wife/business partner now own and operate two restaurants known for bold, fresh flavors. Both the 112 Eatery and Bar La Grassa were named “Restaurant of the Year” by the Star and Tribune newspaper. The 112 Eatery has also been featured in the New York Times, Food and Wine and Bon Appétit.
