The Temptations have entertained audiences for more than 40 years through smash hits and sold-out performances worldwide. The group began its musical life in Detroit, Michigan, in the early 1960s. In 1964, “The Way You Do the Things You Do” by Smokey Robinson turned them into stars. An avalanche of hits followed, including “My Girl,” “Get Ready” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.”
In the 1970s, the group reflected the times with “Psychedelic Shack” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.” The Temptations were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Although most of the singers have changed, the Temptations have attracted a legion of new fans through their strong vocals, seamless harmonies and stylish stepping.
