You asked for it, you got it! The Life@50+ dance party was in Las Vegas with two Motown favorites, The Temptations and The Four Tops! On Friday night, May 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center, these two iconic bands of American music history who have been entertaining audiences for more than 40 years performed exclusively for Life@50+ attendees.
As we enter a new century, Latinos are fast becoming the new face of the country. And yet, we know so little about their stories and accomplishments. The Latino List introduces us to this fastest growing U.S. demographic, not through one voice, but through many different voices. In a country where every 60 seconds a Latino turns 18, how many extraordinary Latinos do you know?
A unique producers’ cut of the The Latino List, the acclaimed multicultural series on identity, struggle and achievement in America, was screened on Friday, May 31, at 5:00 p.m. Comprised of both Volumes 1 and 2 released on HBO, this special edition highlighted several remarkable and courageous Latinos who found possibility and opportunity in the great American landscape.
Interviewed by award-winning journalists Maria Hinojosa and Sandra Guzman, these leaders and role models provided insight and inspiration, demonstrating their continued strength of character and sharing their personal triumphs as American Latinos. Not only did attendees see them on the big screen, but they had an opportunity to meet some of them in person, including the producers and special guest, 19-time Grammy Award winner Emilio Estefan.
Music icon Natalie Cole was back and better than ever! Life@50+ was excited to bring her incredible story and sophisticated sounds to the stage on Saturday, June 1, at 4:00 p.m. with a special Life Reimagined interview and an exclusive performance for Life@50+ attendees. Along with their concert ticket, members of the audience received a complete download of Natalie’s album, Natalie Cole en Español, available June 25.
Natalie Cole en Español is Natalie's first Spanish language album – inspired by the three Spanish albums originally released by her legendary father Nat King Cole. Produced by Rudy Perez, the album features Latin music favorites "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás," "Besáme Mucho" (a duet with Andrea Bocelli) and a virtual duet with Nat King Cole on "Acercaté Más."
