Whoopi Goldberg

Award-winning actor and comedian

Whoopi Goldberg is a versatile, award-winning film, television and stage actor who has been performing since age eight. Goldberg's big break came when director Mike Nichols presented her original, solo Broadway show. The companion album won the 1985 Grammy for Best Comedy Recording. Goldberg was then cast in the film version of The Color Purple. The performance earned her a Golden Globe Award, an NAACP Image Award and an Oscar nomination.
