Larry Smith is a writer and editor best known for encouraging people to share their stories in just six words. He founded SMITH magazine, an online community for "personal stories that celebrate the brilliance in the ordinary." Smith has co-edited five "Six-Word Memoir" books and co-edits AARP The Magazine’s popular "Six-Word Memoir" column and its companion website. Now a contributing editor to ESPN Magazine, he was previously the articles editor of Men’s Journal and executive editor of Yahoo Internet Life. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Salon, Popular Science, and Wired.
