2008 Life@50+ | AARP’s National Event & Expo Job Fair
The Life@50+ | AARP's National Event & Expo Job Fair will take place all three days of the member event. The Job Fair is co-sponsored by The Beacon and the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) and will feature AARP's National Employer Team (NET) members and other national, regional and local employers including Staples, Home Depot, CVS, IRS, Home Instead Senior Care, Robert Half International, Adecco, Manpower, Express Employment Professionals, Genworth Financial and more.
- A Lifestyle Stage will feature presentations on topics including Marketing Your Personal Brand, Job Search Strategies, and Resume & Interview Tips. Experts will be available to provide one-on-one consultation, and RetirementJobs.com will host an Internet Job Search Café and feature Career Coach Bob Skladany, along with AARP My Dream Job contest winners, who will share their networking experiences and successful job search tips.
- Members can learn how to successfully network online and in person at "Meet Me at the Water Cooler" networking sessions. They will also be able to create a profile and join the AARP Water Cooler, an online community for job seekers 50+.
- Jobseekers that participate in the Job Fair activities will be eligible to enter a drawing for an iPod - given away at the end of each day.
- Members will also have an opportunity to engage with the AARP My Dream Job winners during a University Session, Friday, September 5, 2008, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Deborah Russell facilitates "Chasing Your Dream Job: Inspiration and Perspiration." My Dream Job contest winners will be featured as they share lessons learned and advice on how to kick-start a new job search or business venture at 50+ and on sustaining morale and momentum during the process "as life happens."

- Friday, 9/5/08 - 9a-5p
- Saturday, 9/6/08 - 10a -4:30p
