WASHINGTON – The AARP Global Network today announced that ANBO, the Netherlands’ leading organization for people 50+, has joined the Network as a Federation Member. By bringing the Netherlands’ fastest-growing 50+ membership organization on board, the AARP Global Network continues to strengthen its collective resources and experience to confront issues impacting the 50+ population in the Netherlands and around the world.

Founded in 2006 by AARP, the AARP Global Network brings together national organizations across the world that are serving the needs of people 50+. Network members work interdependently to better address the opportunities and challenges faced by the fast-growing 50+ population.

“The Netherlands is one of the leading countries in the world in addressing the needs of its older population,” said Ladan Manteghi, President of AARP Global Network. “AARP Global Network members share common ground in that we all want to facilitate social change and marketplace innovations that recognize the broad needs of this population and ANBO’s experiences can help us further this objective.”

ANBO joins a list of organizations stretching across the globe—from the North America to Europe to Asia—that look to the AARP Global Network to help them better meet the needs of the large and dynamic populations they serve; deliver positive social change; and respond to market gaps in products and services.

ANBO’s primary goal is to provide independence and freedom of choice for its members through advocacy efforts. It also gives its members advice, offers an array of cultural and recreational activities, arranges discounts through third party providers and publishes ANBO magazine.

“By joining the AARP Global Network, we hope to grow the organization to expand our member benefits and services and learn how we can more effectively utilize the resources to better serve our members,” said Liane Wubbels, ANBO Chief Executive Officer.

The AARP Global Network will continue to pursue member organizations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. All income generated by the AARP Global Network is reinvested within the Network to advance its mission of helping organizations better fulfill their social missions and serve their members.
