AARP Endorses Affordable Health Care for America Act

Today AARP announced its endorsement of the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962) and the accompanying Medicare Physician Payment Reform Act (H.R. 3961). The Association’s support follows nearly two years of work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to craft a health care reform plan that meets the needs of AARP’s nearly 40 million members and all older Americans. Among those needs are reforms that strictly curb insurance companies’ discrimination against older Americans and Medicare improvements that strengthen benefits while protecting the program for future generations

Money and Finances are Young Adults’ Biggest Concerns, AARP Report Reveals

AARP’s LifeTuner initiative released a survey today that demonstrates how financial concerns are pervasive in every aspect of young adults’ lives and suggests that a general reluctance to discuss money with friends and family could have a negative impact on their financial futures. The report, entitled “Personal Finances: The Final Frontier of Social Media,” is based on a national survey of 1002 young adults (aged 18-34). Specifically, the report revealed:

Legendary TV Producer Norman Lear Receives AARP’S Highest Honor

AARP presented its annual Andrus Award for service to acclaimed television pioneer Norman Lear at a celebration tonight, part of Vegas@50+, AARP’s annual national event and expo.
