Welcome to Live & Learn online!
“What we do, we do for all.” These are the words of Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, a retired educator who founded the National Retired Teachers Association (NRTA) at age 63 and, 11 years later in 1958, founded AARP. Dr. Andrus formed these two organizations to provide access to health care and retirement security—issues that persist today.
Dr. Andrus insisted that NRTA and AARP be nonpartisan and mindful of all generations in our work. Her values and vision are carried on today through Divided We Fail, a nonpartisan effort to help Americans achieve long-term financial security and get the health care they need.
Now more than ever in these challenging economic times, I hope you will join our effort to end the partisan bickering in Congress and demand that our leaders work together to find solutions to the health care and financial security issues that affect all generations. Please take a moment to learn more and sign the Divided We Fail pledge by visiting DividedWeFail.org.
With best regards,
Megan
