Welcome to Live & Learn online!
It always delights me to share news about people and groups honoring active and retired educators.
With that in mind, I am pleased to help spread the word that Borders bookstores will be hosting Educator Appreciation Week, March 19–25, 2009. This is one of several designated weeks that are part of a collaboration between NRTA, AARP, and Borders. The goal is to recognize the efforts of teachers, professors, and school librarians who have shared a love of books with their students.
During Borders Educator Appreciation Week, educators will enjoy a 25% in-store savings on personal and classroom purchases of books, CDs, DVDs, and more when they bring their Classroom or Educator Discount card, educator ID, or other proof of educator status. Many stores will host a special reception and other events during that week so please check with your local Borders for details.
I hope you will please reach out to schools and educational organizations in your community to be sure they know about this event. In my opinion we cannot thank educators enough for their hard work and dedication on behalf of our students—but Borders certainly does try!
With best regards,
Megan
