Welcome to Live & Learn online!

IN SUCH ROCKY ECONOMIC TIMES, it is hard to talk with friends and family members without hearing how they are being impacted by the current economic situation.  With the cost of food and heath care skyrocketing, families losing their homes, retirement accounts shrinking and millions without a job, AARP and the AARP Foundation recently launched the "Real Relief" online portal to help those in need.

The site features programs and tools for those struggling to make ends meet, seeking employment or job training.  The site is also helpful to those worried about retirement, cutting back on expenses or protecting investments.  There is an easy online tool to help determine eligibility for public benefits programs that could help cover the cost of food, utilities and medicine.  There is also information about Medicare, Social Security, and state-specific programs for seniors with limited incomes.  Additionally, AARP's WorkSearch program is for people 40+ looking for work or needing new job skills and the Women's Scholarship Program provides training and education to women with limited financial resources who are seeking to boost their job skills.

If you, a loved one or a friend needs advice about how to weather these difficult times, please visit the "Real Relief" website for assistance in finding help.

With best regards,

Megan
