Henry Cisneros

Henry Cisneros is executive chairman of the CityView companies, which promote construction of affordable family homes.  His community-building career began at the local level.  The nation’s first Hispanic-American mayor, Cisneros helped rebuild the economic base of San Antonio, Texas.  In 1992, President Bill Clinton appointed him to be Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.  His achievements included revitalizing numerous public housing developments.  After leaving HUD, Cisneros was president of Univision Communications.  He holds degrees in urban planning from Texas A&M University, and advanced degrees in public administration from Harvard University and George Washington University.  He and his wife, Mary (a member of the San Antonio City Council), have three children.
