Dr. Reed Tuckson is executive vice president and chief of medical affairs at UnitedHealth Group, responsible for working with this major insurer’s business units to improve the quality and efficiency of health services.
Previously, he was the American Medical Association’s senior vice president for professional standards. He is immediate past chair of the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services’ Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health and Society. Other leadership roles included serving as president of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, Commissioner of Public Health for the District of Columbia and a senior executive for the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.
