Filmmaker Aviva Kempner credits Gertrude Berg with the invention of the TV sitcom. In her latest documentary "Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg," Kempner profiles the incredible, multi-talented writer/comedienne and actress who was a one-woman "media empire" more than half a century before Oprah.
As with all her work, including her documentary "The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg," Kempner strives to tell the story of under-appreciated Jewish heroes.
Listen to Kempner share the significance of Berg's passion and ground-breaking multi-media ventures with Mike Cuthbert by pressing play on the audio player to the left.
"Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg" is now in select theatres. For more information or to find a theatre click here.
