Geriatric Pharmacist

Did you know there’s a group of pharmacists dedicated specifically to the needs of seniors? The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, based in Alexandria, Virginia, includes more than 7,000 pharmacists who focus on seniors and the needs of patients in specific environments including hospice care, nursing facilities and those being cared for at home.
 
Dr. Judith Beizer, a pharmacist and president of the association, joins us today to talk about her work, along with Dr. Nicole Brandt, who is described by the association as “one of the emerging young leaders in geriatric pharmacy.”
