Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez discovered a talented but deeply troubled violinist playing on Los Angeles streets one day and was driven to find out more about the musician. The result is a personal journey into the world of homelessness, madness, and musical genius.

This interview was recorded in May, 2008. Now (April 2009), the story has been made into a major motion picture. Listen with the audio player at left.  Then join Bill Newcott as he interviews Steve Lopez for an edition of "Movies for Grownups."
