The 1962 epic, "How the West Was Won," is now available in a three-disc DVD set. For sheer star power alone, this set is worth viewing.  And the grand, sweeping Hollywood vision of the West is proudly displayed in the Cinerama process, which, of course, you can only imagine if your television isn't quite big enough...

According to Wikipedia, in 1997, "How the West Was Won" was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry at the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
