Gail Shearer

Gail Shearer is director of health policy analysis in the Washington, D.C. office of Consumers Union, the publisher of Consumer Reports magazine. Gail joined Consumers Union in 1985 and spent her first 17 years researching and analyzing various health policy issues such as health care reform, health care financing, Medicare prescription drugs and health insurance.

Rick Dunham

Richard S. Dunham is the Washington bureau chief of the Houston Chronicle. He is also the chief author of the Houston Chronicle’s popular D.C. political web site, Texas on the Potomac. From 1992 to July 2007, Mr. Dunham was the national political correspondent for Business Week magazine, covering the White House, Congress and national political trends.

Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-California)

Congresswoman Matsui represents the Sacramento region in the United States House of Representatives. She is the fourth-highest-ranked member on the House Rules Committee and serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Tom Miller

Thomas P. Miller is a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where he focuses on health policy, with particular emphasis on information transparency, health insurance regulation, and consumer-driven health care. He is also a member of the National Advisory Council for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Before joining AEI, Mr. Miller served for three years as senior health economist for the Joint Economic Committee.

David Cutler

David Cutler is Otto Eckstein Professor of Applied Economics at the Kennedy School of Government. Professor Cutler has served on the Council of Economic Advisers and the National Economic Council during the Clinton Administration.  As the author of two books, Your Money or Your Life: Strong Medicine for America’s Health Care System and The Quality Cure, Modern Healthcare magazine recently named Professor Cutler one of the 30 most influential people on healthcare.
