Meet AARP Pennsylvania's Executive Council

By providing effective leadership and a comprehensive approach to strategic planning, AARP Pennsylvania's Executive Council brings a new level of expertise to our volunteer structure.

The first Executive Council of Pennsylvania was established to help identify long term strategies for the success of the state office. Executive Council members assumed office on April 28, 2002 at the AARP National Leadership Conference in Washington, DC.

J. Shane Creamer--State President

For over 25 years, Creamer has practiced law, specializing in complex civil and criminal litigation as a partner with Dilworth Paxson LLP in Philadelphia. He served as Pennsylvania's Attorney General and has served in numerous pro bono positions including Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Prison System. He is a graduate of Villanova University and Temple University School of Law.

Barton Fields--Executive Council Advocacy Volunteer

After several years on the AARP National Legislative Council, Fields is returning to serve in his home state of Pennsylvania. He has over 35 years of public service, most notably as the Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue. He has served in the Departments of Auditor General, State, Education, and the Public Utility Commission. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.

Estella (Stella) Hyde--Executive Council Community Service Volunteer

Hyde has been Professor Emeritus of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for 13 years. She has also served in the US Army Nurse Corps since 1989 and holds the rank of Major. More recently, she served as the Co-Chair for AARP Pennsylvania's Long Term Care Task Force. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Case Western Reserve University and the University of Devonshire.

Pioquinto (Skip) Voluntad--Executive Council Communications Volunteer

Voluntad is the owner of Asian Pacific Management and Consulting Company. He has served as the Chairman of the Mayor's Commission for Asian Pacific American Affairs and just completed a six-year commitment as Executive Board Member of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Voluntad received the Governor's Silver & Gold Award in recognition of his commitment to fostering diversity.

Lawrence Frolik--Executive Council Volunteer for Public Policy

Frolik is currently Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a delegate to the White House Conference on Aging and was the past Chair of the Aging and the Law Section of the American Association of Law Schools. Frolik is an Academic Fellow for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, as well as the American Bar Foundation. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Nebraska.
