2003 National Event Volunteers Needed

Source: AARP.org | April 1, 2003

The world is coming to Chicago…or at least more than 15,000 members and friends from around the country will converge on Chicago for AARP's National Event, Sept. 5-7 at Chicago's McCormick Place. Attendees will enjoy great entertainment, informative sessions and the grand exhibit hall which will include the AARP Pavilion.

Can We Count on You To Serve as a Host?

We will need approximately 300 Chicago area volunteers to help in the days leading up to the event and over the three-day period of the event itself. The tasks include preparing information materials, assisting with registration and helping people get to where they need to go. Those who volunteer will gain free admission to the event. (note: admission does not cover entry to the Event Concerts)

Volunteer opportunities will be divided into four-hour shifts and you can work one shift on one day or multiple shifts over a period of days. You will have a chance to meet AARP members from all over the country and welcome them to your hometown.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Steven Carter, Manager of State Operations for the AARP Illinois (Chicago) via email at scarter@aarp.org or call (312) 458-3603.
