Opportunities Across the State for Those 50+
An AARP Physical Fitness survey reports that 64% of AARP members in Georgia are "extremely concerned" about staying fit and maintaining a healthy diet. The survey indicates that 52% of members want more information from AARP on physical fitness. Atlanta has many organizations which promote various forms of physical fitness.
AARP Georgia will sponsor and organize a second TriUmph Classic (50+ Swim-Bike-Run) on Sunday, September 7. By building on our 2002 successful classic, we will convey the message that people age 50-85 can be physically active and have fun at the same time.
It's not too early to start getting ready for the September event. Subscribe to the AARP TriUmph Classic email newsletter for 2003 schedule updates and winter training tips. Find more useful information and answers to your questions on the TriUmph Classic site.
In local communities in each of the eight regions AARP Georgia is working with local organizations and/or the statewide association of County Directors of Parks and Recreation to organize and sponsor physical fitness activities. These activities reach members that are not currently active in other AARP Georgia activities. Check our announcement board regularly for updates on upcoming activities.
