AARP Missouri Names New Volunteer State President

Rosetta Robins of Kansas City, MO has been selected volunteer State President for AARP Missouri.
Robins, principal for Strategic Management Solutions, LLC, is charged with leading the AARP Missouri volunteer team that provides information, advocacy and service to the 755,000 AARP members and their families in the state.
"Ms. Robins indicated strong support for increasing the strength and numbers of volunteers to carry out our member value and social impact agendas in all areas of the state," said John McDonald, AARP Missouri state director. "Her experience and background are outstanding attributes that will compliment our mission and objectives."
Robins has over 15 years of volunteer service on community boards and has a professional employment history as an attorney, educator and university professor and dean. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, M.P.A. in Urban Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and B.S. in Education from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio.
"I am delighted and excited to assume the position of volunteer State President," Robins said.
Her focus is both increasing and broadening the membership of AARP in Missouri with an emphasis on the baby boomers.
"I agree with AARP CEO Bill Novelli that there is a need to reinvent systems, programs and perspectives so that as Americans age, they retain independence, choice and control over their lives," Robins said.
As lead volunteer in the state, Robins will convene the AARP Missouri Executive Council, a small team of volunteers who provide oversight to state operations and programming.
"This will be a rewarding experience and I am confident that my interests, professional background and history of service as a volunteer will assist me as I assume this challenging role," Robins added.
